The Market Hall hosts its first ever heritage beer festival with Derby CAMRA, pouring more than a hundred cask ales, keg beers, ciders and perries from local producers and award winning breweries further afield.

Live music runs through all four days, from a ska and reggae band on Wednesday night to a pop and rock band on Saturday. Pace yourself, because there is a lot to get through and the glass is yours for the duration!

Pepitos serves up sizzling fajitas that have the whole restaurant looking over to see what’s landed on your table. They come with peppers, onions, guacamole, sour cream, salsa and warm tortillas.

Rather someone else did the assembling? The Mar y Tierra pairs chicken fillets with butterfly prawns in a rich, smoky chipotle chilli sauce. Less DIY, more getting stuck in.

POP+BARK take over the Slug and Lettuce for a day of Halloween dog cafes, with 6 events running throughout the day for different breeds, starting with Beagles at 10am. Check their website for the full line-up.

There is a Pupuccino bar, pumpkins everywhere, spooky photo spots and plenty of off-lead chaos. Costumes are encouraged for the dogs. What the owners wear is between them and their conscience!

Four bedrooms have en-suites, so nobody’s fighting over the bathroom. Even the triple garage has upgraded to a gym. Meanwhile, the rest of us are still using ours to store Christmas decorations and boxes marked “important”.
