Circus acts, motorbike stunts that defy gravity, and then a monster truck called Red Thunder drives into the big top. Yes, it really does go inside. The kids will be talking about it till Christmas.

You can get chips, candy floss and slushies there, but you can't take your own food in, so leave the sandwiches in the car. Nobody will touch them anyway, they'll be too busy shouting OMG!

Grillzilla's wings are marinated in-house and grilled to order over the flames, so they land smoky round the edges. Order the Wings Platter and twenty turn up at once. Sharing is up to you, and nobody's counting.

Can't pick between chicken and beef? The MightyZilla puts a piri piri chicken patty and an Angus beef patty in one bun. The mozzarella sticks are cut from whole blocks and fried until gooey. Maybe don't wear white!

We mentioned it on Monday and it's still pouring. The Market Hall's first Heritage Beer Festival, run with the local CAMRA branch, has over a hundred cask ales, keg beers, ciders and perries from local brewers and award winners from across the UK.

There's live music both days, from a folk rock band on Friday night to a sea shanty choir on Saturday afternoon. Pace yourself, it's two days, not a race!
