Neverland Drone Show at the County Ground, The Vintage Fair, Plus a Pottery Pop Up!

Morning! Summer's packing its bags but there's one more big spectacle up its sleeve: hundreds of drones lighting up the sky over the County Ground on Saturday, painting the whole Peter Pan story across the stars.

There's a Vintage Fair filling the Market Hall all weekend, a pottery night at Carnero Lounge if you fancy making something with your hands, and Celine Dion and Motown both done by candlelight at the cathedral

Hundreds of synchronised drones light up the sky over the County Ground on Saturday, painting the whole Peter Pan story across the stars with music and narration, alongside live tribute acts, fairground rides, face painting and street food from 5pm. £1 from every ticket goes to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. Book parking ahead, and note dogs aren't allowed on site apart from assistance dogs.

Aalappeaz near St Peter's Churchyard serves Kerala cooking that's a world away from the usual curry house, this is dosa territory: crispy pancakes bigger than your forearm, flaky porotta for scooping up rich curries, fish fry in banana leaf, and chicken 65 that arrives looking like trouble. The Vintage Fair is back at Derby Market Hall for two days, with collectors, dealers and independent traders bringing their best across the decades, vinyl, antiques, retro clothing and one-off pieces you won't see anywhere else. It's a great browse whether you're after something specific or just enjoying the buzz of the hall, and half the fun is the chat with the traders who know their stuff inside out.

Paint your own pottery at Carnero Lounge on Thursday, all paints, glazes and firing included in the ticket, plus a finished piece to take home once it's done. No skill required, complete beginners welcome, and with food and drink available at the bar it's a lovely low-key night out with your favourite people. Your pottery comes back glazed and fired about four weeks later, which is roughly when you'll have forgotten what you made and can enjoy the surprise all over again.
