WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND IN DERBY?

Re-imagine Derby: A Festival of Wheelbarrows, Brass Bands, and Big Ideas! 🎨🌿🛞

This Saturday, 21st September, Derby’s city centre transforms into a vibrant celebration with the "Re-imagine Derby" festival. Organised by Down To Earth Derby, this day-long event is jam-packed with fun for all ages. Spread across Electric Daisy, Sadler Gate, and Cathedral Green, there’s plenty to explore from workshops to brass bands, street parties, and the iconic Pimp My Wheelbarrow race!

Highlights of the Day:

Drop-in workshops at Electric Daisy from 10 AM to 5 PM, featuring activities such as:

• Puddy Muddles – Playful sessions for children.

• Are You MAD? – A workshop turning recycled materials into art.

• Gardening at Electric Daisy – Get your hands dirty and take home a plant.

• DUST – Explore augmented reality and virtual reality on what a “re-imagined” city could look like.

Main Event Schedule:

• 1:30 PM: Watch the quirky and thrilling Pimp My Wheelbarrow race along Sadler Gate.

• 3:30 PM: The energy moves to Cathedral Green with a performance by King Brasstards and a moving river ceremony to wrap up the day.

• 5:00 PM – 10:30 PM: Head back to Electric Daisy for live music, talks, and a charity Wheelbarrow Auction in support of Bridge the Gap.

Pop-up food vendors and a brass band will be weaving through the city streets as well.
