Morning! Electric Daisy's monthly social is on tonight with Mile Junkies leading a 5k at half six, Fomo House on the decks, and Little Vic's Deli on sandwiches, so you can run it or stand in the garden with a drink and call yourself moral support.

Saturday brings the grand opening of WEDGE, a brand new pottery studio letting you have a free go on the wheel, and Take Aim on The Strand is showing four local artists all weekend before the clay shooting simulators move in.

Electric Daisy's monthly social is back tonight and it's got three very good reasons to turn up. Mile Junkies lead a 5k around the city from half six, which is either your chance to get some steps in or your chance to stand in the garden holding a drink and nodding supportively as they head off.

Fomo House takes over the decks from four till ten, and Little Vic's Deli are on sandwiches! Free entry, all welcome, and absolutely no obligation to run a single step. Nobody's checking your fitness tracker at the door.

New Inns on the A515 has put together a menu that makes choosing your dinner considerably harder than it needs to be in a good way! Ginger and soy ribs, cider-braised sausages, Indian fried chicken covered in butter chicken sauce and a dhaba-style chicken curry cooked in rum tomato gravy.

Then there's the paratha lamb smash, cottage pie wrapped in shortcrust pastry and a dum biryani with a naan lid, which sounds less like dinner and more like someone was allowed to make whatever they fancied. Sunday keeps things equally interesting with beef and pork belly, or tandoori chicken with a green chilli Yorkshire pudding.

Take Aim opens in October as a country house style activity venue with clay shooting simulators, social darts and virtual golf around a bar, but first they're handing the Grade II listed building over to four local artists for one weekend, with Friday evening as the Meet the Artists opening from six till nine, wine and prosecco included. Free all weekend, no booking, and your only chance to see the place full of paintings before it's full of people arguing over a darts score.

Abbie's on hand to talk memberships and classes if it gets its hooks into you, there are special edition mugs for sale all made in-house, and there's no booking needed, just turn up and get your hands muddy.
