Things to do this week: A Jurassic Day Out, The Trance Day Party, Plus Shakespeare in the Park!
Morning! This week has dinosaurs taking over Derby Market Place on Saturday, a daytime trance party where you're home before the takeaway menus come out, and Shakespeare under the stars at Markeaton Park. If food's calling, we've also found a village pub that's quietly becoming one of Derbyshire's best places to eat!

A Jurassic Day Out returns to Derby Market Place on Saturday with roaming dinosaurs, interactive shows and plenty of prehistoric fun taking over the city centre. There'll be towering dinosaurs, family activities and even a live appearance from a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

SCRUMPTIOUS SCOOP
🍺 - The Swan Milton - The Village Pub That's Quietly Outcooking Restaurants!
📍- 49 Main Street, Milton
⏰ - Mon 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM / Wed 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
⏰ - Thu 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM / Fri to Sat 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM
⏰ - Sun 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM (closed Tuesdays)
📷 - @theswanmilton
The Swan has been part of Milton since the early 1700s, serving polished pub food that punches well above village pub expectations. The menu changes with the seasons, blending comforting classics with dishes that wouldn't look out of place in a much pricier restaurant.
The beef bourguignon has built a loyal following, the three-cheese fondue is best shared with someone you're prepared to negotiate with, and Sunday roasts are worth planning your weekend around. Mondays bring Pie Night, Wednesdays are Teatime Tapas, and there's also a tasting menu that regulars are keen to keep to themselves.

ACTIVITY ALLEY
🔊- Trance Day Party - Hands in the Air, Home by Teatime, Everybody Wins!

📅 - Sat 18th July
⏰ - 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM (last entry 5 PM)
🎟️ - From £20 (18+)
📷 - @thechurchderby
The Trance Day Party lands at The Church on Saturday afternoon with five hours of euphoric, hands-in-the-air anthems from Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten and Cosmic Gate. Lasers, big builds, bigger drops, and the tracks you actually know rather than the deep cuts.
Doors at 3pm, done by 8pm, so you get the full festival experience and still make it home for a sensible bedtime and a cup of tea. Four ticket tiers have already gone, so the remaining ones won't hang around.
