Things to do this week: Celebrate Sadler Gate, Derby Record Fair, Plus Alvaston Park Community Fun Day!

Morning! Sadler Gate takes over on Saturday with live music, street performers, food, drink and guided history tours all day. Free entry from 11 AM and all the independent shops open alongside it.

Also on Saturday, the Derby Record Fair is at St Peter's Churchyard from 9 AM with over 15,000 LPs and 3,000 singles, free entry, and they're buying on the day too. And Alvaston Park Community Fun Day kicks off at noon with a funfair, dog show, wrestling, karate, a hog roast, and enough food stalls to fill a very full Saturday.

AA Record Fairs return to St Peter's Churchyard on Saturday with more than 15,000 LPs and 3,000 singles, from genuine rarities to albums everyone swears they "used to have."

They're also buying records on the day, so there's every chance that dusty box in the loft becomes next month's takeaway money... unless you spend it all on more records before you leave.

Free entry, open from 9am, so if you're serious about finding the good stuff, don't hit snooze.

Alvaston Park Community Fun Day is back on Saturday with a packed programme that includes live entertainment, a funfair, a dog show, wrestling demonstrations from Aspire Community and Wrestling Alliance, GKR Karate self-defence showcases, and more food than anyone planned to eat.

Greek gyros, hog roast, hot dogs, burgers, candy floss, popcorn, ice cream, hot desserts and slushies. Plus stalls selling handmade goods, children's toys, baked goods and natural dog treats. Free entry, outdoors all afternoon, and a very full Saturday if you want one.
