Morning! A free cycling festival at the Market Hall this Saturday, which is either the nudge you needed to dig the bike out of the garage or just a good day out with no ticket required. Either way, Mercian Cycles, BMX riders, stage talks, and a full day of cycling culture from 10.

Also this week, Happy Tuesdays Comedy Night at Dubrek Studios on Tuesday, four acts and an MC for £6.50, and the Railway Terrace Beer Festival kicks off on Wednesday, five days, two pubs, fifty-plus cask ales and twenty-plus ciders.

A free cycling festival at the Market Hall, organisations from across the area all in one place, local bike shops, Mercian Cycles showing off some of their historic models, BMX riders, balance bikes for little ones, and adapted bikes for people who face challenges riding a traditional bicycle.

There are also stage talks from people who have used cycling to do genuinely remarkable things, broken Guinness world records, completed incredible journeys, and overcome personal challenges. Free bike security marking on the day too if you want to get yours done while you're there.

Tapas @ No 2 in Melbourne has been doing world tapas since before it was everywhere, and the menu shows it. Long enough to argue over, good enough that it doesn't matter what you pick.

The slow cooked duck leg with cabbage, bacon and apple is the one to order. The gambas with saffron rice, peas and alioli runs it close. Moroccan chicken skewers, crispy cod with honey alioli, pork belly with chorizo in a brava sauce. Pick four or five, share them, then immediately order more. Last seating is 9:30 PM so book ahead.

A four-act comedy night at Dubrek Studios headlined by Tom Little, an Edinburgh Fringe regular with a knack for the kind of observations you recognise but would never say out loud.

Support from Carly O'Connor, Abi Myles and Jonathan Harvey, all held together by MC Craig Shaw. Six pounds fifty for a guaranteed funny night out on a Tuesday.

The Brunswick Inn and The Victoria Inn are teaming up for a five day beer festival on Railway Terrace. Fifty-plus cask ales, twenty-plus ciders, two pubs, and absolutely no reason to go anywhere else for the rest of the week.

Both venues are a short walk from each other so there's no excuse not to do both. Pick a pub, work your way through the list, and let someone else worry about what's for tea.
