Chellaston’s serving up a murder mystery with dinner on the side, Elvaston Castle is letting you wander its halls for free history and hidden stories, and Dental Perfection are promising straighter smiles and prosecco in Littleover.

If you make it through all that, there’s still room for lowriders, live music and a bit of Zen to finish you off on Sunday.

Derby Market Hall is going full Bavarian for one day only. Long tables, bratwurst, currywurst, Apfelstrudel and a one-off lager brewed just for the occasion. The Ein Steins party band will be belting out tunes while everyone pretends they know the words, and yes, lederhosen are encouraged.

There’s a kids’ zone with games and crafts if you’ve got little ones in tow, but the real action is at the communal benches where strangers become drinking buddies in about 30 seconds. Free entry, first come first served, and a guaranteed shortcut to feeling like you’ve woken up in Munich without leaving Derby.
