Morning! Russell Howard is at Vaillant Live on Saturday night with his new 2026 tour, phone free, no distractions, just two hours of one of the UK's biggest stand-ups.

Also on Saturday, the Derbyshire Biodiversity and Regenerative Food Festival is on Cathedral Green, free entry, organic growers, street food, and foraging tasting sessions if you've ever wondered what's edible in a hedge. Derby Market Hall is making a full weekend of it with Makers, Music and Market, stalls, live music and artisan food running Saturday until 10 PM and Sunday until 3.

The Derbyshire Biodiversity & Regenerative Food Festival launches on Cathedral Green this Saturday, with organic growers, street food vendors, bakers, makers, crafters, charities and community groups all turning up for a free day outdoors.

There’ll be plenty to eat, plenty to learn, and foraging tasting sessions from Charnwood Foraging at noon and 2pm, which is ideal if you’ve ever looked at a hedgerow and wondered what’s food and what’s a mistake with consequences.

Free entry, city centre location, and a genuinely useful excuse to spend Saturday outside without pretending you’re “going for a walk”.

Tamanna’s sits at Derby County Cricket Ground serving North and South Indian fine dining with hand ground spices and a menu that immediately turns the table into a committee meeting.

Sharabi Chicken Tikka comes marinated in bold spices and flamed with rum, which tells you the kitchen is not here to whisper. The clay oven lamb chops bring the smoke, the biryani does the slow fragrant thing, and the Lucknowi Lamb Korma is rich with cashew and yogurt in a way that makes people go quiet for a few seconds before pretending they were “just tasting it”.

It’s the curry night where everyone says they’re “not having much” before defending the final bit of naan like family land.

Russell Howard lands at Vaillant Live on Saturday night with his brand new 2026 tour, which is a phone free show. Terrifying news for anyone who normally checks their notifications every seven minutes like they’re monitoring a hostage situation.

Support comes from Andrew Bird at 7:30pm, with Russell on stage from 8:10pm for two hours of live stand up from one of the UK’s biggest comics.

This one was rescheduled from February too, so if your tickets have been sat in your inbox for months, congratulations. Your patience has finally become a night out.

Derby Market Hall is making a full weekend of it with local makers, independent traders, artisan food and drink, and live music across both days.

Guest makers and crafters will be joining the regular traders, which means candles, prints, bakes, handmade mugs, and at least one purchase that gets mentally rebranded as “for the house”.

Saturday runs all the way to 10pm, so it can turn into lunch, drinks, music, another lap round the stalls, and something wrapped in tissue paper that definitely wasn’t on the plan. Sunday wraps at 3pm for the people with more self control.
