Things to do this weekend: A Baby Market, World Book Day, Ruby Wax Live, And a Dracula Market!
Morning! This weekend’s got plenty going on. Friday kicks off with Dracula’s Bazaar at QUAD and Ruby Wax in the evening, then Saturday starts early with the Baby and Children’s Market at Pride Park and World Book Day at Market Hall, with dancing, talks, and a few later plans if you’re staying out. Sunday finishes with a Golden Meet at Elvaston, a Wedding Fair at the Museum of Making, and a gong bath to close it out.

This one’s a quick Saturday morning sweep, with around 60 stalls of pre loved kids bits, toys, jumperoos, walkers, cots, swings and more. It’s indoors, it’s busy, and it’s cash only with no cash machine on site, so go prepared and you’ll come out feeling like you’ve pulled off a small victory.

Piptree Café sits inside Collyers Nurseries, so it’s easy to head in for a garden centre browse and end up staying for the food. Breakfast covers the classics, lunch has sandwiches, paninis and jacket potatoes, and the Vietnamese specials are the real curveball, banh mi, fresh spring rolls and noodle bowls made to order.
Coffee is 200 Degrees, the cakes counter does serious damage, and there are vegan and gluten free options across the menu. Dogs are welcome too, which helps.

This is a full day at Market Hall for anyone raising a small bookworm, or anyone who still gets excited by a fresh stack of stories. Free stalls, storytelling, crafts, and dressing up encouraged. There are also workshops running including Matisse art kits, 3D sculpture, comic book club, family poetry, dance, character drawing, illustration, and improv.

Then there’s an 18+ after party from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM if you want to keep it going.
