Morning! Christmas markets are firing up, the dog cafes are back in full force and the weekend is stuffed with everything from tribute nights to book sales. Whether you want mulled wine at Chatsworth House, a morning with classic cars or an afternoon surrounded by very small dogs in jumpers, you have plenty to pick from. It is one of those weeks where you could easily stack two or three plans without trying.

Chatsworth has dialled up the festive energy with more than one hundred stalls, live music and enough mulled wine to keep spirits high even when the weather turns rude. The whole place feels like someone handed the countryside a glitter budget and told it to go wild. The market is running until 14th December.

We mentioned The Greenery a few months back, but in case it slipped past you, this little coffee shop and evening bar has updated its menu and added more bite sized options. Toasties are still the main event, now with extra choices including mozzarella and pesto, ham and cheddar, tuna melt, chicken and mozzarella and a vegan option. You will also find warm teacakes and a leek and potato soup that fits the season nicely.

Revolucion de Cuba is being taken over by tiny dogs in Christmas jumpers as the Shih Tzu Christmas Cafe returns. Each session is eighty minutes of off the lead fun, cute outfits and pups posing like they are filming a festive advert. Dog lovers without a pup can come too, but those tickets are limited.
