This weekend has the Markeaton Park Food Festival across both days with street food, bars and live music, the Vintage Fair back at the Market Hall for two days of antiques and vinyl, and a cocktail masterclass tonight at The Spirit Run for anyone who fancies making their own drinks and immediately taking full credit. It's another hot weekend, so whatever you're doing, do it with a cold drink in hand!

Two days of collectors, dealers and independent traders taking over the Market Hall with antiques, vinyl, nostalgic keepsakes and vintage treasures, all with a story to tell and a price tag you'll pretend to think about. You'll walk past one stall, spot something you had as a kid, and suddenly it's the most important object in the building.

Free to get in and a very easy way to lose a couple of hours you fully intended to spend doing something productive.

Yassou Greek Kitchen in Little Eaton does Greek food the way it should be done. Halloumi comes out bronzed and squeaking, gyros arrive with juicy meat, warm flatbread and sauces that don't wait for anyone, and the honey roasted loukanika is the plate that quietly disappears while everyone pretends they only had one piece.

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options throughout, so nobody ends up doing the awkward I'll just have chips routine. Book ahead, it fills up.

We flagged this one on Monday, and it's now nearly time. Markeaton Park is filling up with street food traders, bars and live music across both days, with free entry and dogs welcome.

If you're heading down, the difficult bit is deciding where to start. Burgers, pizza, loaded fries, Asian street food, sweet treats and plenty more will be on offer, so choose carefully. Someone will inevitably walk past with something better.

Happening tonight in The Spirit Run at the Market Hall, this two hour cocktail masterclass starts with a welcome glass of The Uncommon Thread, their own London Dry Gin distilled right there on site. From there the team walk you through making three of your own cocktails, with a cheese board alongside to keep you upright.

Once you've earned your stripes, you can carry on into their speakeasy style bar and watch the team craft theatrical cocktails to order, which is a very good way to end a Friday. Welcome drink, three cocktails, and nibbles all included.
