Bustler rolls into Belper Rugby Club for the weekend with eight street food traders, live music on Saturday, a DJ on Sunday, cocktails, craft beer and garden games.

The food lineup includes shawarma, loaded fries, gyoza, Argentinian BBQ, Indian rolls, wood fired pizza, poutine and fish and chips, which means making sensible decisions is off the table almost immediately.

Sunday also has a kids silent disco, which is great fun and slightly unsettling if you've never seen thirty children dancing enthusiastically in complete silence.

£2 entry, kids go free, and pre-booking is recommended.

Piptree Café sits inside Collyers Nurseries, so it’s easy to head in for a garden centre browse and end up staying for the food. Breakfast covers the classics, lunch has sandwiches, paninis and jacket potatoes, and the Vietnamese specials are the real curveball, banh mi, fresh spring rolls and noodle bowls made to order.

Coffee is 200 Degrees, the cakes counter does serious damage, and there are vegan and gluten free options across the menu. Dogs are welcome too, which helps.

The Derbyshire Biodiversity & Regenerative Food Festival launches on Cathedral Green this Saturday, with organic growers, street food vendors, bakers, makers, crafters, charities and community groups all turning up for a free day outdoors.

There’ll be plenty to eat, plenty to learn, and foraging tasting sessions from Charnwood Foraging at noon and 2pm, which is ideal if you’ve ever looked at a hedgerow and wondered what’s food and what’s a mistake with consequences.

Free entry, city centre location, and a genuinely useful excuse to spend Saturday outside without pretending you’re “going for a walk”.

Weaver Sarah Cooke is running a full day workshop at the Museum of Making where plastic packaging, old phone cables and fabric offcuts are turned into wall art, table mats and small bags using traditional weaving techniques.

It's a rare opportunity to spend six hours making something genuinely impressive from items that were heading for the bin. The sort of workshop that leaves you looking at an empty cereal box and wondering if you've been too hasty.

All materials are included, but you're welcome to bring your own waste materials along too.
