Morning! This weekend starts with Coldplay on strings in a candlelit Silk Mill on Friday, which feels like a classy night out without trying too hard. Saturday’s doing the work, with the Makers Market at Banks Mill and the Repair Cafe to rescue anything broken from the bin.
Sunday rounds it off with wrestling at Popworld and a few calmer options like a sound healing session. Also, Cafe Blanc has just opened on St James’s Street, giving you a new spot to sit with a coffee and do a bit of people watching.

This is a string quartet in the Silk Mill, surrounded by candles, turning the big songs into something that feels a bit more dramatic in the best way. It’s 60 minutes, doors open 45 minutes before, and seating’s by zone, so getting in early is the difference between a great view and a lot of polite neck stretching.
