Things to do this weekend including: 150 ales, dirty sodas and a noughties singalong

Morning! This weekend is looking busy.

The beer festival is back with 150 ales and live bands at the Museum of Making, while Derbion welcomes Sluurp’d, the UK’s first dirty soda bar, for its grand opening.

If you’re after something more nostalgic, The Church is hosting a Noughties Day Party complete with Britney and Beyoncé throwbacks.

Families have plenty too, with scarecrows, art shows and princess sing-alongs popping up across the weekend.

Over at Derby Arena, DEKA FIT is lining up to test your limits with a fitness challenge that looks suspiciously like gym class turned evil.

The Derby Heritage Beer Festival returns to the Museum of Making with more than 150 real ales, ciders, craft kegs and world beers.

The River Kitchen will be serving food, a marquee is up for extra space, and live music adds to the atmosphere. Indie Division play on Friday night and Unforgiven headline on Saturday.

Advance tickets are the safest bet, as walk-ins depend on capacity and nobody wants to miss out while their mates are inside raising a glass.

Derby, dare to drink dirty. Sluurp’d is crashing into Derbion this Friday with the UK’s first dirty soda bar.

The menu takes your familiar fizzy favourites like Coke, Fanta and Sprite, then remixes them with syrups, cold foam and cream.

If that’s not wild enough, there’s even a “Slightly Unhinged” section with flavour combos you probably shouldn’t like but will order again anyway.

Saturday is when it all kicks off. From 11am, the first 50 sign-ups at the till get a free regular drink from the Core or Kids menu.

There’ll be tasters, spin-the-wheel prizes, and plenty of excuses to tell yourself it’s “just one more sip.”
