Things To Do This Weekend: MooFest at Bluebells, The Ultimate Card Show, Plus a Dachshund Disco!

Morning! The school holidays kick off today and MooFest lands at Bluebells with six weeks of foam parties, water wars, sheep racing and a tortoise spa, plus a free return ticket so you can do it all again in a fortnight when the boredom returns.

Sunday has the Ultimate Card Show at the Arena with 150 vendors bringing Pokémon, Magic and sports cards, and a Dachshund Disco at Slug and Lettuce for anyone who fancies eighty minutes in a room full of sausage dogs. Motorfest is at Elvaston Castle from 9:30am too!

MooFest arrives just in time for the point in the holidays where the phrase "I'm bored" starts arriving hourly. There's a foam party in the field, water wars, sheep racing, calf bottle feeding, tractor rides, go-karts, a toboggan track, and a tortoise spa, which is exactly what it sounds like and better than you're imagining.

New for this year there's a barrel ride, emu talks featuring a bird called Forest Gump, and barn talks for anyone whose child has recently become an animal expert. Every ticket comes with a free return visit valid until 28th September, because one trip was never going to cover it.

POP+BARK bring their viral Dachshund Disco to Slug and Lettuce for an eighty minute off-lead session with a room full of sausage dogs, disco balls, glow sticks, bubbles and a garden disco theme that leans fully into the pink.

There's a Pupuccino Bar serving dog-safe treats topped with berries and biscuits, a pop-up shop for accessories, and cocktails and brunch bites for the humans. You don't need to own a Dachshund to come, which is fortunate, because most people attending will spend the whole session wondering how to acquire one.
