Things To Do This Weekend: The Urban Wine Festival, Osnabrück Day, Plus the Inflatable Family Fun Day!

Morning! This weekend has the Urban Wine Festival at Electric Daisy on Sunday, with sixty wines, oysters, pizza, live music and a garden doing its best impression of a mini holiday.

Saturday brings Osnabrück Day to the centre for free, with silk painting, dhol drumming, street shows and a maypole turning up like it had unfinished business.

The Inflatable Family Fun Day is at Derby Rugby Club across both days if the kids need tiring out, and Hotpod Yoga’s open weekend is running Friday and Saturday at the new Allestree studio if your weekend needs a calmer start.

The Urban Wine Festival is back at Electric Daisy’s garden on Sunday with more than sixty wines from around the world, plus pizza, fresh oysters, ice cream, bar snacks, and live music across the afternoon.

It starts with “I’ll just try something light” and ends with someone confidently discussing Argentinian Malbec like they’ve been waiting years for the question.

Kids go free with a paying adult too, and there’s a mud kitchen to keep them occupied while the grown-ups make extremely thoughtful decisions near the wine list.

Turaa brings Indian street food and modern dining together in Melbourne, pulling flavours from Mumbai and Dhaka without making the whole thing feel like a geography lesson. The menu runs through chaat, tandoori grills, curries, biryani and sharing dishes, which is exactly how a table of sensible adults ends up ordering like they’ve never seen food before.

It starts with “shall we get a few bits?” and fifteen minutes later someone is defending the last bit of naan like there’s legal ownership involved. Go with people who share well. Or don’t, and learn something about them.

Osnabrück Day takes over the city centre on Saturday with a full day of free workshops, performances and creative bits for all ages.

At the Market Hall, you’ve got silk painting from Surtal Arts, dhol drumming, Bharatanatyam, Afro dance workshops, screen printing, postcard making, and enough activity to make “we’ll only stay half an hour” sound deeply optimistic.

There’ll also be performances from Derby Choral Union, Trinity Warriors and Nadia Jane Performing Arts, plus a FOLK3D display, a Sid Bowfin street show, and a maypole, because apparently Saturday needed a plot twist.

The UK’s biggest inflatable family fun day is rolling into Derby Rugby Club for the weekend with giant slides, activity zones, and three full hours of unlimited bouncing for kids aged 2 to 12.

Adults get in free, mainly because your role here is standing next to the inflatable holding shoes, jackets, half-drunk Capri Suns, and occasionally shouting “careful!” into the distance.

There’s bumper cars, trampolines, and hook-a-duck on site too if the children somehow still have energy left, plus absolutely no booking needed. Just turn up and prepare to hear “watch this!” roughly 700 times.
