Things To Do This Weekend: Three Days of Historic Racing at Donington, Punks Against Cancer, Plus Troy Hawke Live!

Morning! This bank holiday weekend has three days of historic racing at Donington Park, which is either the best thing you’ve read all week or something to forward to your dad. Saturday has Punks Against Cancer at The Hairy Dog with twenty-seven bands and all proceeds to Macmillan, Troy Hawke at Vaillant Live, and the May Repair Cafe at West End Community Centre if you’ve got something broken at home and have been meaning to sort it for six months.

Sunday has the Belper Arts Trail and Derby Unplugged at Chapel Street Arts Centre if the weekend needs a quieter finish.

The Donington Historic Festival is back for its 15th edition. Three days of historic racing, thirty GT3 cars on the grid for the category’s 20th anniversary, and Formula One demonstrations including the McLaren MP4/1 that Niki Lauda raced in 1982. The paddock is open all weekend and under 13s get in free!

Punks Against Cancer is back at The Hairy Dog for three days, twenty-seven bands across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support. SKIDS, Cyanide Pills, Theatre of Hate, Popes of Chillitown and plenty more, two bars, a games room, outdoor garden and a food shack.
