Morning! This weekend has two days of antiques and collectables at the Conference Centre, a Trance Day Party at The Church on Saturday afternoon that's done by teatime, and the Indie Crafters Carnival taking over the Market Hall with stilt walkers and a bubble show.

Saturday also has A Jurassic Day Out in the Market Place for the kids, Julius Caesar in the park at Markeaton in the evening, and it's going to be 26 degrees and sunny, which after this week feels like a reward for something.

Jaguar Fairs bring their Antiques & Vintage Fair back to the Derby Conference Centre for the weekend, with dealers from all over the country flogging antiques, vintage bits and collectables under one roof. Two days of picking things up, going "oooh," and having a full internal debate about whether it'll fit in the car.

Early birds pay £6 for the first hour on Saturday to beat the crowd to the good stuff. After that it's £5, under 16s go free, and parking's free, so the only damage will be self-inflicted at the stalls.

A converted canal warehouse right on the water in Shardlow, with a beer garden so pleasant that leaving becomes a genuine negotiation with yourself. Pub classics, a grill section, vegetarian options, and a view that makes everything taste slightly better than it has any right to.

Sunday brings the roasts, and once you've had one looking out at the canal, the sofa version stops feeling quite the same.

The Trance Day Party lands at The Church on Saturday afternoon with five hours of euphoric, hands-in-the-air anthems from Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten and Cosmic Gate. Lasers, big builds, bigger drops, and the tracks you actually know rather than the deep cuts.

Doors at 3pm, done by 8pm, so you get the full festival experience and still make it home for a sensible bedtime and a cup of tea. Four ticket tiers have already gone, so the remaining ones won't hang around.

A circus themed takeover of the Market Hall with independent makers, handmade stalls, and a stilt walking balloon modeller who is, on current evidence, taking the job more seriously than most people take their actual careers. Bubble shows, circus workshops, and pop up surprises land throughout the day.

Free entry, crafts for all ages, and part of the 160th birthday celebrations. Bring the kids, or don't, and enjoy the balloon modelling entirely for yourself.
